Molasses Taffy or
Toffee (Tamarin à
la melasse or
Tire à la mélasse)


1 cup of molasses
1 cup of sugar
2 tbsp. of butter
3 or 4 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. of baking soda

  


Put molasses, sugar, vinegar and butter in pot. Cook. Drop a small amount in cold water; it will crack when it is cooked. Add the baking powder when it is nearly cooked. Cool in a greased pan. Cut into small pieces with scissors.
